Our association represents over 1600 veterinarians in the state, and we are proud to include veterinary students as well. In addition to providing you with resources and networking opportunities, the IVMA also aims to connect you with peers in the profession during your vet school years. Freshmen Stethoscope Dinner:   The freshmen veterinary students are welcomed to the profession with dinner and stethoscopes provided by Patterson Veterinary Supply. The Freshman Stethoscope Dinner for the Class of 2026 was held on Tuesday evening, August 30, 2022, in West Lafayette.

Information:  The IVMA website, office, and professional staff provide you with “one stop shopping” for any questions or issues you may have along the way. You will receive periodic emails, links to the Hoosier Veterinarian newsletter, and breaking information. You can’t put a value on this benefit!

Scholarship Information

Scholarship applications will be accepted for scholarships for applicants who are 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th year veterinary students. The selected students will be recognized and scholarship checks presented in February, 2023.

  • The Indiana Animal Health Foundation is offering 2 – $1000 scholarships to selected students. The online application is due by October 30, 2022, to the IVMA offices.
  • The Indiana Veterinary Medical Association is offering 4 – $1000 scholarships to selected students. The online application is due by October 30, 2022.

Power UP – Now Available To All Veterinary Students

Power Up offers FREE, confidential, short-term counseling and personal consultations. Power Up is designed to help with all kinds of life situations: Legal Questions, Financial Situations, Marital Difficulties, Parenting Stress, Relationship Issues, Depression, Alcohol and Drug Use Abuse, Grief and Loss, and other difficulties veterinary students may face.
