Develop YOUR Leadership & Communication Skills

The Power of Ten Leadership (POTL) Program is an IVMA initiative designed to cultivate leadership capacity in recent graduates and provide learning experiences that will enrich the individual and benefit the individual’s practice, community, and profession.

How it works:

The Power of Ten Leadership Program will provide ten recent graduates (graduated from a college of veterinary medicine with a DVM degree in the years 2017-2023) with a series of leadership, personal, and professional development sessions over an eight-month period. Participants must have graduated from a college of veterinary medicine with a DVM degree within the last seven years. IVMA will provide topic experts and CE meeting expenses at no charge for participants. Space is LIMITED to 10 PARTICIPANTS.

  • August 16, 2023 – Welcome to IVMA and Insights Personality Training  – meeting will be held at Embassy Suites Noblesville, generously sponsored by Elanco
  • September 13, 2023  Influence, Communication and Personal Branding –Dr. Michelle Harcha – Teton Conference Room, KSM Offices, 800 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN
  • October 18, 2023 – Veterinary Well-Being Boot Camp Dr. Elizabeth Strand –Teton Conference Room, KSM Offices, 800 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN
  • November 15, 2023 –Managing Stress and Emotional Blackmail in the Workplace with Dr. Jen Brandt – Teton Conference Room, KSM Offices, 800 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN
  • December 6, 2023 – Financial Wellness with Julie Kimbley, CPA, sponsored by Katz Sapper Miller – Teton Conference Room, KSM Offices, 800 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN
  • January 4-6, 2024 – AVMA Veterinary Leadership Conference, Chicago, IL, scholarships to attend provided by the Larry Borst Leadership Endowment through the Indiana Animal Health Foundation
  • February 2-3, 2024 – IVMA LEAD Program Embassy Suites, Noblesville
  • March 6, 2024 – Potpourri Wrap Up – Insights Review, Networking, and Setting Personal Goals with Dr. Lindsey Hedges and Lisa Perius, CAE, Teton Conference Room, KSM Offices, 800 E. 96th Street – Indianapolis, IN
  • Each session will offer 5 hours of continuing education.
